Ready Player Two is a complex book for me. I understand the criticisms and admire those who loved it. Before reading the book I had a special connection to it. It was the only science fiction book my father ever recommended to me and I loved it. When the sequel came out I bought it for him to be delivered on the release day, although it got lost and I had to resend it. After he read it he sent it to me so I could read it too. When I finally got to it, I was overwhelmed with emotions as I had lost my father almost a year ago. With all that said, I shall attempt to give an objective review.
The book does contain a lot of nostalgia, although not quite the same level of adoration for the 80s as the first book. The pacing is relatively slower than the first book and I was a bit surprised at how quickly Wade’s fortunes changed after his victory in the first book. The adventure felt realistic and the characters were true to their personalities. The ending was enjoyable, with a good mix of hope and realism. I hope this is the end of the series, but I did enjoy the ride.

Fue el único libro de ciencia ficción que me recomendó mi padre y me encantó. Cuando salió la secuela se la compré para que me la entregaran el día del estreno, aunque se perdió y tuve que reenviarla. Después de que lo leyó, me lo envió para que yo también pudiera leerlo. Cuando finalmente llegué a eso, estaba abrumado por las emociones ya que había perdido a mi padre hace casi un año. Con todo lo dicho, intentaré dar una revisión objetiva.
El libro contiene mucha nostalgia, aunque no el mismo nivel de adoración por los años 80 que el primer libro. El ritmo es relativamente más lento que el del primer libro y me sorprendió un poco lo rápido que cambió la suerte de Wade después de su victoria en el primer libro. La aventura se sintió realista y los personajes eran fieles a sus personalidades. El final fue ameno, con una buena mezcla de esperanza y realismo. Espero que este sea el final de la serie, pero disfruté el viaje.
