I’ve read a lot of reviews about this novel since it was published and they were all very positive. I was really eager to start this trilogy and I finally did. It’s no surprise to me that this novel has sold hundreds of thousands of copies, they all deserve it. The Gypsy Bride completely captivated me and very few novels of this genre manage to do that after so many I’ve read. The frenetic pace of the plot and the short chapters are two of the fundamental pillars of the addiction it causes. There’s no filler, it’s a story in which things keep happening continuously. It’s a bittersweet novel, some of the things that happen are unpleasant but at the same time you can’t stop reading. It’s raw and direct.
The characters are very well built, I was fascinated by Elena and also Zárate. Elena is a very particular character and I think I’ll see another side of her in the remaining books that I find very interesting judging by the path the story can take. The ending is brutal, I need more. In conclusion: if you like good thrillers and detective novels don’t hesitate to give it a chance because it won’t disappoint you. Now I can only think about reading The Purple Network as soon as possible.
He leído muchas reseñas sobre esta novela desde que se publicó y todas fueron muy positivas. Tenía muchas ganas de empezar esta trilogía y finalmente lo hice. No me sorprende que esta novela haya vendido cientos de miles de copias, todas se lo merecen. La novia gitana me cautivó por completo y muy pocas novelas de este género logran hacerlo después de tantas que he leído. El ritmo frenético de la trama y los capítulos cortos son dos de los pilares fundamentales de la adicción que provoca. No hay relleno, es una historia en la que las cosas van pasando continuamente. Es una novela agridulce, algunas de las cosas que pasan son desagradables pero al mismo tiempo no puedes dejar de leer. Es crudo y directo.
Los personajes están muy bien construidos, me fascinó Elena y también Zárate. Elena es un personaje muy particular y creo que veré otro lado de ella en los libros restantes que me parecen muy interesantes a juzgar por el camino que puede tomar la historia. El final es brutal, necesito más. En conclusión: si te gustan los buenos thrillers y las novelas policiacas no dudes en darle una oportunidad porque no te defraudará. Ahora solo puedo pensar en leer The Purple Network lo antes posible.
