Roland Emmerich, the director behind films such as Independence Day, Godzilla, and The Day After Tomorrow, is back with a new disaster film, Moonfall. The plot revolves around the moon falling out of orbit, leading to a conspiracy theory being uncovered. Emmerich does not attempt to make Moonfall anything other than a big disaster film and delivers on that promise. The film has a lot of visually impressive set pieces, however, the story and script are muddy, and some of the acting performances are lacking, particularly from Patrick Wilson. The attempt to add scientific justification for the disaster comes across as jargon at times. While the film has some enjoyable moments, it ultimately falls short, with a weak story, lackluster subplots, and underdeveloped side characters. It’s not a great film and had some worse aspects than expected.

Roland Emmerich, el director detrás de películas como Independence Day, Godzilla y The Day After Tomorrow, regresa con una nueva película de desastres, Moonfall. La trama gira en torno a la caída de la luna fuera de la órbita, lo que lleva a que se descubra una teoría de la conspiración. Emmerich no intenta hacer de Moonfall nada más que una gran película de desastres y cumple esa promesa. La película tiene muchos escenarios visualmente impresionantes, sin embargo, la historia y el guión son confusos, y faltan algunas actuaciones, particularmente de Patrick Wilson. El intento de agregar una justificación científica para el desastre a veces parece una jerga. Si bien la película tiene algunos momentos agradables, finalmente se queda corta, con una historia débil, tramas secundarias mediocres y personajes secundarios subdesarrollados.
