Chainsaw Man Vol. 1 is a captivating story that follows the journey of Denji, a poor young man living with his pet devil, Pochita. After being targeted by the Yakuza, Denji makes a deal with Pochita, who replaces his heart and gives him the power to turn into the chainsaw devil. He is then recruited as a professional devil hunter by the public safety devil hunters. Denji’s true goal is to find someone to love, but he also wants to touch some boobs (with consent of course). The story is a great combination of fun action and depressing realism, which makes it even more entertaining to read. The characters are also great, with Denji being particularly loveable and relatable. The artwork by Tatsuki Fujimoto is also amazing, with it being both sweet and brutal when necessary. All in all, this was an incredible introduction to the series and I cannot wait to read the next volumes.
