Shadow in the Cloud is an unexpected mix of World War II action, gremlin-fighting horror, and feminist themes. It’s a wild ride that begins with Chloë Grace Moretz’s character transporting a top-secret package on an Allied warplane and quickly descends into a fight for survival. The plane is manned by a crew of misogynistic dogs of men, and the plane itself is under attack by both gremlins and Japanese fighters. Moretz dives into her role with zeal, providing an action hero to root for as she literally beats the crap out of a gremlin. The movie’s special effects are a bit iffy, but that doesn’t take away from the fun of this eighty-minute rollercoaster. Max Landis’s script may not be subtle, but it does send an important anti-sexual harassment message. Shadow in the Cloud won’t be for everyone, but it’s a great way to pass the time in these strange times.

Shadow in the Cloud es una mezcla inesperada de acción de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, horror de lucha contra gremlins y temas feministas. Es un viaje salvaje que comienza con el personaje de Chloë Grace Moretz transportando un paquete de alto secreto en un avión de combate aliado y rápidamente desciende a una lucha por la supervivencia. El avión está tripulado por una tripulación de perros misóginos de hombres, y el avión en sí está siendo atacado tanto por gremlins como por combatientes japoneses. Moretz se sumerge en su papel con fervor, proporcionando un héroe de acción al que apoyar mientras literalmente le da una paliza a un gremlin. Los efectos especiales de la película son un poco dudosos, pero eso no quita la diversión de esta montaña rusa de ochenta minutos.
