The Creeper saga seems to have come to an abrupt end, and there’s no exaggeration in this statement. If we recall the problems with “JC3”, we’ll find that the low budget was the main factor that ruined it. The movie suffered not only because of the story (which in itself was bad), but also due to the low-quality special effects that impacted the final result. Furthermore, “JC3” had another plot that was discarded due to budgetary constraints, which highlights that the lack of funding was the cause of its issues. However, this is not the case with “JC: Reborn”.
“JC: Reborn” fails in every possible aspect: acting, direction, plot, Creeper’s makeup, and even the portrayal of the Creeper itself. The feeling this movie leaves us with is that those who worked on it had no idea about the franchise they were part of. The overall atmosphere and setting bear no relation to the previous installments, which is compounded by the poor acting of its performers. These actors and actresses seem to star in a low-quality YouTube parody, far from a good film production. As for the Creeper, it’s impossible not to wonder: what is that? The actor portraying it in this movie would deserve an award for the worst performance, but he’s so bad that perhaps they’ll exclude him and give it to someone else. The Creeper is ridiculous and comical, giving the impression that the actor didn’t research the character before acting. To make matters worse, the deplorable makeup turns the Creeper into a laughable being, as those who attended the movie theater with me could attest.
Although there’s much more to say about this movie, I believe I’ve written enough. As a true fan of the franchise and someone who grew up watching the first two “Jeepers Creepers” installments, which bring back memories of my childhood, this movie is a slap in the face. My sincere wish is that the franchise be managed and worked on by more competent people in the future. No offense intended, but everyone involved in this movie, including the director, should be replaced if future sequels are planned. It would be advisable to let the franchise rest for a while to find a suitable team to create a worthy “JC” movie. Respect the fans and the Creeper, as both deserve better than what they’ve been offered on this occasion.

La saga del Creeper parece haber llegado a su fin de manera abrupta, y no hay exageración en esta afirmación. Si recordamos los problemas de “JC3”, encontraremos que el bajo presupuesto fue el principal factor que la arruinó. La película sufrió no solo por la historia (que de por sí era mala), sino también por los efectos especiales de baja calidad que afectaron el resultado final. Además, “JC3” tenía otra trama que fue descartada debido a restricciones presupuestarias, lo cual evidencia que la falta de financiación fue la causa de sus problemas. Sin embargo, esto no ocurre en “JC: Renacido”.
“JC: Renacido” falla en todos los aspectos posibles: actuación, dirección, trama, maquillaje del Creeper e incluso en la representación del propio Creeper. La sensación que nos deja esta película es que quienes trabajaron en ella no tenían idea de la franquicia a la que pertenecen. La atmósfera general y el escenario no guardan relación alguna con las entregas anteriores, a lo que se suma la pobre actuación de sus intérpretes. Estos actores y actrices parecen protagonizar una parodia de baja calidad en YouTube, lejos de una buena producción cinematográfica. En cuanto al Creeper, es inevitable preguntarse: ¿qué es eso? El actor que lo interpreta en esta película merecería un premio a la peor actuación, pero es tan malo que quizás lo excluyan y se lo otorguen a alguien más. El Creeper es ridículo y cómico, dando la impresión de que el actor no se documentó sobre el personaje antes de actuar. A esto se suma el deplorable maquillaje, que convierte al Creeper en un ser risible, como pudieron comprobar quienes asistieron a la sala de cine conmigo.
Aunque hay mucho más que decir sobre esta película, considero que ya he escrito lo suficiente. Como verdadero fan de la franquicia y como alguien que creció viendo las dos primeras entregas de “Jeepers Creepers”, que me traen recuerdos de mi infancia, esta película es un golpe en la cara. Mi deseo sincero es que la franquicia sea gestionada y trabajada por personas más competentes en el futuro. Sin ánimo de ofender, pero todos los involucrados en esta película, incluido el director, deberían ser reemplazados si se planean secuelas futuras. Sería recomendable dejar descansar la franquicia por un tiempo para conseguir un equipo adecuado que realice una película de “JC” digna. Respeten a los fans y al Creeper, pues ambos merecen algo mejor que lo que se les ha ofrecido en esta ocasión.

SOBRE EL DIRECTOR
Timo Vuorensola, nacido en Helsinki el 29 de noviembre de 1979, es un reconocido director de cine y actor finlandés. Su trabajo incluye la dirección de las películas de la serie Star Wreck, como “Star Wreck V: Lost Contact” y “Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning”, ambas creadas por Samuli Torssonen. En dichas entregas, Vuorensola no solo estuvo a cargo de la dirección, sino que también interpretó al Teniente Dwarf. Además, dirigió la película “Iron Sky”. Fuera del ámbito cinematográfico, Timo Vuorensola es el vocalista y cofundador de Älymystö, una banda de música industrial gótica.
