Tan popular y emblemático como Sherlock Holmes o acaso más, Arsène Lupin es un personaje inolvidable convertido ya en leyenda. Experto en derecho y medicina, diestro en artes marciales, además de prestidigitador y auténtico seductor. Lupin es un héroe de los bajos fondos a quien nadie gana en sagacidad.

Today I bring you the new edition of Arsène Lupin’s book, Knight Thief. This edition has been published in March of this year, and its success is largely due to the famous Netflix series that bears the same name. But are they about the same thing? No, while the book tells you 9 of the adventures of Arsène Lupin, the series inspired by the Lupine books tells us how Assane Diop uses the same tricks as Lupine to solve his own problems. That is, the book talks about Arsène Lupine himself, while in the series Assane only uses his knowledge for his benefit.
Maurice Leblanc’s way of writing captivates. It is not a book that you can read without paying too much attention since at any moment a small detail or a conversation appears that reveals the whole story to you, or that gives you clues so that you can reveal it. In addition, each chapter is narrated from a different point of view. There are chapters in which it is Lupine himself who leads us through the story, others in which the protagonist is Inspector Ganimard and some in which the protagonists of the story are characters that only appear in that story.
The language he uses is very entertaining and the vocabulary is very simple. All this helps to make the reading very light and to make the book short. Also, the last chapter comes with a big surprise for the fans of this police novel that I prefer not to reveal.
I’m looking forward to the release of the second part of the book and the series, to be able to compare again and continue praising this magnificent character.

Hoy os traigo la nueva edición del libro de Arsène Lupin, Caballero ladrón. Esta edición ha sido publicada en marzo de este mismo año, y su éxito se debe en gran medida a la famosísima serie de Netflix que lleva el mismo nombre. Pero, ¿tratan de lo mismo? No, mientras que el libro te cuenta 9 de las aventuras de Arsène Lupin, la serie inspirada en los libros de Lupin nos cuenta cómo Assane Diop utiliza los mismos trucos que Lupin para solucionar sus propios problemas. Es decir, el libro habla del propio Arsène Lupin, mientras que en la serie Assane solo utiliza sus conocimientos para su beneficio.
La forma de escribir de Maurice Leblanc atrapa. No es un libro que puedas leer sin prestar demasiada atención ya que en cualquier momento aparece un pequeño detalle o una conversación que te desvela toda la historia, o que te da pistas para que tú la puedas desvelar. Además, cada capítulo está narrado desde un punto de vista diferente. Hay capítulos en que es el propio Lupin el que nos conduce a través de la historia, otros en los que el protagonista es el inspector Ganimard y algunos en los que los/las protagonistas de la historia son personajes que únicamente aparecen en esa historia.
El lenguaje que utiliza es muy ameno y el vocabulario es muy sencillo. Todo esto ayuda a que la lectura sea muy ligera y a que se te haga corto el libro. Además, el último capítulo viene con una gran sorpresa para los/las fans de esta novela policíaca que prefiero no desvelar.
Estoy deseando que saquen la segunda parte del libro y de la serie, para poder comparar de nuevo y seguir alabando a este magnífico personaje.
