Maurice Leblanc has crafted yet another masterpiece, this time putting more thought into the characters and the dynamic of the plot. Despite this, he still fails to give the titular character, Arsène Lupin, more depth and instead uses him as a tool to move the story along. His female characters remain just as two-dimensional as ever, and Herlock Sholmes is unfortunately degraded in the process. The intricate plot of the novel is what truly makes it shine, as every detail is accounted for and each mystery is more captivating than the last. The ending of the book is the icing on the cake, making it a truly remarkable read. I highly recommend this book; even if you haven’t read the first two in the series, it’s a quick and enjoyable read.

Maurice Leblanc ha creado otra obra maestra, esta vez pensando más en los personajes y la dinámica de la trama. A pesar de esto, todavía no le da más profundidad al personaje principal, Arsène Lupin, y en su lugar lo usa como una herramienta para hacer avanzar la historia. Sus personajes femeninos siguen siendo tan bidimensionales como siempre y, lamentablemente, Herlock Sholmes se degrada en el proceso. La intrincada trama de la novela es lo que realmente la hace brillar, ya que cada detalle se tiene en cuenta y cada misterio es más cautivador que el anterior.
