I’ve never been a big fan of crime novels, because they can be repetitive and somewhat predictable. At first I thought it was going to be a novel like the others of its genre, entertaining but nothing special, plus the copy of Sherlock and Watson seemed quite obvious to me from the beginning. However, as the story progressed, I found myself wanting to endlessly turn the pages to find out what was in store for these endearing characters, whose personal stories are also slowly being revealed in the story.
Although it may seem predictable at first, near the end of the narrative, the author introduces many unexpected twists and perfectly orchestrated plot twists to keep us all eager for more reading.
In short, Red Queen is a great detective novel that stands out among those of its genre. With constant social criticism and numerous satirical and humorous elements, this novel will make you feel an enormous affection for some characters and an intense hatred for others; all this together with a very entertaining narrative that will make it impossible to stop reading.
Nunca he sido un gran fanático de las novelas policiacas, porque pueden ser repetitivas y algo predecibles. Al principio pensé que iba a ser una novela como las demás de su género, entretenida pero nada del otro mundo, además la copia de Sherlock y Watson me pareció bastante obvia desde el principio. Sin embargo, a medida que avanzaba la historia, me encontré con ganas de pasar las páginas sin parar para descubrir qué les esperaba a estos entrañables personajes, cuyas historias personales también se van conociendo poco a poco en la historia.
Aunque pueda parecer predecible al principio, cerca del final de la narración, el autor introduce muchos giros inesperados y giros en la trama perfectamente orquestados para que todos estemos ansiosos por leer más.
En definitiva, Reina Roja es una gran novela policiaca que destaca entre las de su género. Con constante crítica social y numerosos elementos satíricos y humorísticos, esta novela te hará sentir un enorme cariño por algunos personajes y un intenso odio por otros; todo ello junto a una narrativa muy entretenida que hará imposible dejar de leer.
